Rare Cultural Relics of the Silk Road




The exhibition of the “Rare Cultural Relics of the Silk Road” opened on Dec.21, 2012 in Henan Museum The exhibition is jointly organized by 25 museums of 6 provinces along the Silk Road. Such as, Henan Museum, Shanxi History Museum, Gansu Museum, Ningxia Museum, Qinghai Museum, Museum of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region etc.
More than 270 sets different kinds cultural relics come from the Spring and Autumn period to the Song and Yuan Dynasty. Among them, about 150 pieces are grade one cultural relics of the state. The exhibition bases on the history and composes mainly of the Silk Road. Totally, the exhibition has six parts. The visitors can enjoy various cultural relics, silk fabric, chinaware, jewel, pearl, glass, religion appliance, stationery commodity and many other treasures of the Silk Road.

The exhibit period will last three months. It exhibits from Dec. 21, 2012 to Mar. 3, 2013. At the same time, Henan Museum will hold all kinds of expert lectures. Such as: “Celebrating the New Year's Day”, “Searching the Silk Road Treasures during the Spring Festival”,“Researching the Lantern Festival of the 15th of the First Lunar Month------Burning Tri- colour Glazed Pottery”and so on.
